Juz 1 - Summary
There are mainly five themes that at addressed in this Juz:
1. The categories of people
2. The inimitability of the Holy Qur’an
3. The story of the creation of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him)
4. The condition of the Children of Israel
5. The story of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him)
1. The categories of people are three: Believers, hypocrites, and disbelievers
The five attributes of believers are mentioned as follows:
1) Faith in the Unseen
2) Establishment of Prayer
3) Giving of Zakat
4) Faith in the previous Divine Revelations
5) Certainty in the Hereafter
Many characteristics of hypocrites are mentioned such as lying, deceit, lack of awareness, having diseases in the spiritual heart, impurity, mocking the divine commandments, causing chaos and corruption, ignorance, deviation, and indecision.
While for the disbelievers it is stated that their hearts and ears are sealed.
2. The inimitability of the Holy Qur’an:
In the Surahs where the greatness of the Holy Qur’an is described, there are disjointed letters (huroof-e-muqatta’at) at the beginning of those Surahs. This is to show that from these very letters both your speech and the speech of Allah are formed, but you are incapable of creating a speech like that of Allah’s.
3. The Story of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him):
Allah made Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) His khalifa (vicegerent), the angels called humans mischief-makers, Allah granted Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) knowledge, the angels acknowledged their lack of knowledge, the angels were commanded to prostrate to Prophet Adam (peace be upon him), satan refused and was thus rejected, Prophet Adam and Mother Hawa (peace be upon them) were misled by satan in Paradise, and then humans were given the earth as a place of vicegerency
4. The Story of the Children of Israel:
Their ungratefulness towards Allah for the blessings and Allah’s curse upon them.
5. The Story of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him):
Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) building the Kaaba with his son (Prophet Ismail AS), then seeking acceptance from Allah, followed by repentance to Him and seeking forgiveness from Him.
Juz 1 - Lessons
1. Worship is solely and exclusively for Allah ﷻ, and one must turn to Him Alone for help.
2. Allah divides mankind into three categories: a Believer, a Disbeliever or Hypocrite and describes the characteristics of the hypocrite.
3. The story of the cow contains great lessons: beware of faltering when faced with Allah’s commands and do not procrastinate or ridicule them because to do so leads to hardness of the heart.
4. Being ungrateful of Allah's blessings can result in blessings being ceased.
5. The humility of Ibraheem عليه السلام in building the Sacred Mosque and how he responded when Allah give him the honour of completing this task.
اس پارے میں پانچ باتیں ہیں:
1۔اقسام انسان
2۔اعجاز قرآن
3۔قصۂ تخلیقِ حضرت آدم علیہ السلام
4۔احوال بنی اسرائیل
5۔قصۂ حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام
1۔اقسام انسان تین ہیں: مومنین ، منافقین اور کافرین۔
مومنین کی پانچ صفات مذکور ہیں:
۱۔ایمان بالغیب ۲۔اقامت صلوۃ ۳۔انفاق ۴۔ایمان بالکتب ۵۔یقین بالآخرۃ
منافقین کی کئی خصلتیں مذکور ہیں: جھوٹ، دھوکا، عدم شعور، قلبی بیماریاں، سفاہت، احکام الٰہی کا استہزائ، فتنہ وفساد، جہالت، ضلالت، تذبذب۔
اور کفار کے بارے میں بتایا کہ ان کے دلوں اور کانوں پر مہر اور آنکھوں پر پردہ ہے۔
2۔اعجاز قرآن:
جن سورتوں میں قرآن کی عظمت بیان ہوئی ان کے شروع میں حروف مقطعات ہیں یہ بتانے کے لیے کہ انھی حروف سے تمھارا کلام بھی بنتا ہے اور اللہ تعالیٰ کا بھی، مگر تم لوگ اللہ تعالیٰ کے کلام جیسا کلام بنانے سے عاجز ہو۔
3۔قصۂ حضرت آدم علیہ السلام :
اللہ تعالیٰ کا آدم علیہ السلام کو خلیفہ بنانا، فرشتوں کا انسان کو فسادی کہنا، اللہ تعالیٰ کا آدم علیہ السالم کو علم دینا، فرشتوں کا اقرارِ عدم علم کرنا، فرشتوں سے آدم علیہ السلام کو سجدہ کروانا، شیطان کا انکار کرنا پھر مردود ہوجانا، جنت میں آدم وحواء علیہما السلام کو شیطان کا بہکانا اور پھر انسان کو خلافتِ ارض عطا ہونا۔
4۔احوال بنی اسرئیل:
ان کا کفران نعمت اور اللہ تعالیٰ کا ان پر لعنت نازل کرنا۔
5۔ قصہّ حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام:
حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام کا اپنے بیٹے کے ساتھ مل کر خانہ کعبہ کی تعمیر کرنا اور پھر اللہ تعالیٰ سے اسے قبول کروانا اور پھر توبہ و استغفار کرنا.
